CMC's founding is a response to the existence of an ever growing section of entrepreneurs in Uganda that has been left out of the formal banking sector and yet they have the potential of succeeding in business.

A wider section of the Ugandan population harbours entrepreneurial interests and indeed a number of them have gone ahead and started up businesses but besides their lack of business skills, many of them have failed to survive up to their first birthday in business citing insufficient capital as a key inhibiting factor. CMC was incorporated to answer the concerns of such entrepreneurs.
